Fearne Cotton shows off her model potential as she takes to the catwalk to launch her new clothing range

She's made the difficult transition from a children's television presenter into a style icon for young women everywhere.


And now Fearne Cotton has taken her love of fashion to the next level by taking to the catwalk to launch her new clothing range for online store Very.co.uk.

The 29-year-old star wore a stunning pale purple backless gown as she posed for photographs on the runway ahead of the show, which came on the eve of London Fashion Week.

Several stunning models wearing Fearne's creations for her Spring/Summer 2011 collection then strutted down the catwalk showing off the designs, which included a pretty aubergine dress and a grey and black bow number, in front of an audience including fashion experts.

The catwalk show was also attended by celebrities Alesha Dixon and Craig David, who showed their support for Fearne with their presence.

Fearne has found huge success with Very.co.uk and has released a series of incredibly popular ranges for the online retailer.

Talking about her collaboration with the store, Fearne said recently: 'Doing this has always been a dream of mine, as it is most girls. I have an art background I did an art course so I’ve always been doodling clothes and my ideas.

'I really wanted to do something with conviction, I don’t just want to have my name or face to it, so I started with Very about one and a half years ago, got a sense for it and just decided to go for it. I really get a lot of involvement so it’s been a great platform.'

As well as wearing her trademark groups of rings and layers of jewellery, Fearne showed off her newest accessory of which she is most proud - her engagement ring.

The radio presenter is now engaged to her skater boyfriend Jesse Jenkins, who popped the question by getting down on one knee in Richmond Park on Fearne's 29th birthday.

And style queen Fearne is already planning what she will wear on her big day, explaining: 'I’d like something quite vintage, I think.

'I’d like something that I’d helped design or make, but it would have to be quite old and tatty looking. Maybe with some flowers through in my tousled hair.'

Fearne also spoke about her desire to start a family with Jesse, who she has been dating on and off for the past two years.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: 'I’ve always been broody. Having a family of my own is really important, more than anything.

'I’m not in a rush. I’ll want proper time to relax and settle down and feel happy in that relationship. My priority won’t be kids straight away. I’d like to have a family by 35.'

Earlier in the day, Fearne posed for a photocall with two models wearing designs from her collection at Victoria House.

Clearly excited about her catwalk show, Fearne smiled for photographers as she posed wearing a stunning purple flowered wrap dress and khaki peep-toe shoe boots.
